"By adopting a child and helping them reach their potential, they help us reach ours. An adopted child is not an unwanted child; to the contrary. They are a child who was searched for, prayed for, cried for, begged for; received by arms that ached, making empty hearts full. Love is meant to be shared." Author unknown

Heaven has another angel...

My heart is heavy today.  Last night, we received an email stating that Noel passed away on January 27th. We knew this was a possibility but a heart is never ready to realize that news. It lays heavily upon me.

We are thankful she no longer suffers from the illness that has raged through her body for over a year.  Our prayers have been answered.  She is now healthy and has a forever Heavenly family.  She has a Father who will lavish her with love and tell her how perfect she is.

Though Noel never physically made it far from her birth place, she has touched many lives.  She served a grand purpose on this earth. Her preciousness began us on an adoption journey we had not planned to take. God, knowing her condition and that He would soon hold her in His arms forever, led us to two boys who would needed a long term family here on this earth.  Though my heart aches knowing she was likely not lavished in love here, I know she receives His abundant love in Heaven

If Noel has touched your life, would you please leave a comment.

Your life will not be forgotten sweet girl. I look forward to the day I can hold you in Heaven.

In loving memory -
Noel Chun Guang

  2. We, the parents of a Chinese nevus owner and a son, share your pain today. This is heart-breaking for us, too. We know her reward in the next life will be great and we honor what she did in her short time here in this world. Sending prayers to you from Colorado-

  3. Oh Tracy, I'm so sorry to hear this. I have been following your journey for so long, and I know Noel was loved by so many. I've always thought about her and wondered where she was and what she was doing. Now we can all feel peace knowing that SHE is at peace. She's healed now and that's what matters.

  6. Oh sweet angel, I remember your picture. Although your momma and daddy never got to hold you, you were held in their hearts and ours. Now may you sing and dance with your Father.

  7. Noel, you have touched the hearts and lives of so many with your precious face. I pray that you are laughing and playing with all the other sweet angels in the Kingdom of Heaven. To the Downey family, I am praying for you as you grieve for Noel, who will always be a part of your family - and one day that dream will be realized when you meet her face to face. I am so sorry for your loss.

  12. I know that I don't know your family, but your blog was shared with me through a past adoptive family and I feel compelled to express my love for this sweet girl. I'm currently the Assistant Director at an international adoption agency and have had a special place in my heart for Noel for quite some time now. After seeing her file return to the shared list, I advocated on her behalf, with hopes of finding her forever family. While every child touches your heart in one way or another, some grab an extra little piece of your heart and hold on tightly. Noel was one of these little girls for me. Each day I checked the list for her file and thought about her. I am so sad to hear of her passing, but am so thankful for families such as yours who have so much love for her. She's touched my life and changed it forever - I'll never forget you sweet Noel! Kelsey
