In just over an hour, we should be meeting Esther and Xavier! There are no words to express what is running through my mind and the feelings associated. It is a combination of excitement, nervous, anxious, and heart wrench. While these kiddos are coming into a loving family, their lives and everything they know will change forever. The people, smells, foods, routines, environment, and so much more will never be the same. We will be taking them from their birth culture and while we do our best to educate them about their culture, it is not the same a growing up in it. My heart aches for the parents who had to chose to give up these children. My heart aches for the nannies and friends of these children. And my heart rejoices that they will be orphans no more. In 30-minutes, we will head downstairs to meed up with the other 6 families who will also be meeting their children. This will be such an amazing morning to see 8 kiddos be orphans no more but we cannot forget the heartbreak that goes with it.
Please pray for us, that we will be able to comfort them and meet their needs despite the language barrier. Pray for these kiddos to feel the love of their family and also that of their Heavenly Father! Pray for the nannies and the children left behind.
We are as ready as we are ever going to be. Next post will be of Gotchas!
Thank you for continuing to cover us in prayer!
"By adopting a child and helping them reach their potential, they help us reach ours. An adopted child is not an unwanted child; to the contrary. They are a child who was searched for, prayed for, cried for, begged for; received by arms that ached, making empty hearts full. Love is meant to be shared." Author unknown
